Voice-over artist Tim Kitzrow provided multiple voices for this game. Prototype machines have a magnet just below the wrecking ball; it was eliminated on production machines. Reportedly, sample games have this magnet but we have been unable to verify this. We asked designer Barry Oursler if the wrecking balls on Prototype and Sample games were first cabled with a wire to the crane instead of a chain as seen on production games. He replied:Yes, I had a steel cable on the original design. After a short time, the cable would fray and would eventually break. It was changed to a chain and the mechanical arm moved up and down. The original had a pulley with the ball and cable. I (and others) got laid off before it went into production. Regarding the magnet under the playfield, I had it there to stop the ball from swinging when the cable was there, so you could set up another shot. I guess it didnt swing as much with the chain, so it was removed after I left.
