Dennis Nordman did the initial playfield design but left the company at this stage. Dave Sanders took over the design and reportedly changed it considerably although not entirely. Garret Popek designed, sculpted, and fabricated the Xenomorph and Facehugger models. Reportedly, Matt Riesterer also did sculpting but we have been unable to confirm this.
A rotating airlock toy with the alien queen inside was intended for the upper playfield but was replaced with an LCD display on production games.

A colorful and interesting tour of a pre-production game using software version 0.94 can be found here. It's cabinet sticker inexplicably carried information belonging to a previous model, 'Full Throttle'.
